El Loco Review

El loco is my first experience of eating Mexican a part from the home-made packet burritos, tacos and nachos. I have to say this cozy little pub word wonders when you're catching up with high school friends reminiscing about our post- exam life if that was existent. Overall, the menu was great, cheap and delicious food that was also incredibly satisfying however it you chilli-intolerant then besides the corn chips and the fish burger, your options are very limited. Another thing that you should take note of when considering El Loco, is that they do not that bookings so it's only first come first served.

 Loving the Mexican skulls
 Decor was very rustic
Corn Chips with guacamole and salsa $5
 Tacos $5

Excelsior Hot Dog, Grilled pork Frankfurt served on a soft bun with pickled jalepenos, pico ge gallo, mayonnaise and cheese $9
Not a huge fan of jalepenos? Don't worry they're overshadowed by the lovely cheese sprinkled on top.
Fish "Torta" Sandwich, Grilled fish served on a soft bun with cabbage, coriander, spring onion, mayonnaise and pico de gallo salsa $12
I loved this! The flavours just gelled so nicely, with the fish, cabbage and the mayo in particular, my only fault was that it was so messy to eat because there was a generous amount of mayonnaise so consequently, the bun became soaked rather fast. Fret not, they have forks on the table so guess who ate a burger with a fork (no shame)?

So next time you're in Surry Hills or near Central (very short walk from the station) and are after a quick bite do visit El Loco.
